      BlueTex™ Radiant Barrier Insulation Products

If you are insulating a metal building, pole barn, airplane hangar, storage facility, garage, or workshop - you are in the right place. Every BlueTex™ product includes a 99% pure aluminum foil layer that reflects 97% of radiant heat. That's the core technology across the entire product line.

Choosing the right product matters. But having the right process is what makes it work. We are building science experts - we are not just here to sell products. The comparison below will help you find the right fit for your building, your climate, and how you actually use the space.

      Most Installed Products

      Foam + Foil Insulation

BlueTex Pro 2mm 50 inch wide insulation roll

The most commonly installed product in the BlueTex™ lineup. For most customers and most applications, the 2mm Pro is exactly what the building needs. Foil on one side, bright white woven finish on the other - blocks 97% of radiant heat and acts as an effective vapor barrier when installed airtight.

Best for: Garages, workshops, pole barns, storage buildings, airplane hangars, and any metal building where heating or cooling is occasional. For buildings on 48" on-center framing.

50" wide (4'2") 2mm EPE foam 300 sq ft or 700 sq ft rolls Vapor barrier
      Shop 2mm Pro 50"
BlueTex Pro 2mm 62 inch super wide insulation roll

Same EPE foam core and 97% radiant heat reflection as the 50" Pro - wider format for buildings with 60" on-center framing. One roll spans the full bay with room for overlap, eliminating the need for seam alignment adjustments. Same climate applications as the 50" Pro.

Best for: Garages, pole barns, metal buildings with 60" on-center framing. Same performance as the 50" Pro, different framing fit.

62" wide (5'2") 2mm EPE foam 300 sq ft or 700 sq ft rolls Vapor barrier
      Shop 2mm Pro 62"
BlueTex Supreme 6mm 50 inch wide insulation roll

The 6mm Supreme uses a denser XPE foam core - designed for cold and wet climates, or any building where consistent heating is a regular goal. The extra foam thickness provides better vapor resistance and more insulation against heat loss in winter. Includes an adhesive edge on one side for EZ-seal overlapping seams.

Best for: Cold-climate metal buildings, buildings with regular heating loads, maximum condensation control. For buildings on 48" on-center framing.

Important: Do not use on roll-up garage doors - the thickness will interfere with the rolling mechanism. Use the 2mm Pro 50" for all roll-up door applications.

BlueTex Supreme 6mm 62 inch wide insulation roll

Same denser XPE foam core as the 50" Supreme - wider format for buildings with 60" on-center framing. All the same cold-climate and maximum condensation control performance, sized to span 5' bays cleanly. Includes adhesive seam edge.

Best for: Cold-climate buildings and maximum moisture control applications on 60" on-center framing.

      Barndominiums & Conditioned Spaces

      For Fully Conditioned Buildings

BlueTex Thermal Wrap Vapor Barrier for Fully Conditioned Buildings

If you are creating a continuously climate-controlled space - a barndominium, an office conversion, a living area inside a metal structure - Thermal Wrap is designed to pair with R-value insulation for maximum performance. Radiant barrier alone is not the right solution for a building that runs HVAC continuously.

Thermal Wrap gives you the vapor barrier, air barrier, and radiant heat reflection in one product. Always pair with a mass insulation product (spray foam, fiberglass batts, or rigid foam board) to handle conductive heat transfer in a fully sealed envelope.

Best for: Barndominiums, fully conditioned shops, office conversions inside metal buildings. Contact us for guidance on what R-value product to pair it with for your specific application.

      Hot Climates - Vented Structures

      Radiant Barrier Foil

BlueTex Single-Sided Radiant Barrier Foil White Perforated

Reflects 97% of radiant heat from the foil side - with a white finish on the opposite side for a cleaner interior look. The foil side must face an air space of at least 1/2" to function. Micro-perforated with tiny pinholes every 1/2" - this is a breathable product, not a vapor barrier. For heat control only, not moisture management.

Best for: Hot climates, vented attic spaces, and applications where heat control is the goal and moisture is not a concern. Available in 48" wide and 60" wide rolls.

48" or 60" wide 1,000 sq ft rolls Micro-perforated (breathable) Not a vapor barrier

BlueTex Double-Sided Radiant Barrier Foil Perforated

Foil on both sides - reflects 97% of radiant heat regardless of which face is oriented toward the heat source. Heavyweight at 28.6 lbs per 1,000 sq ft. Tear-proof construction holds up to stapling without ripping. Rolls are approximately 6" in diameter for easy handling. Micro-perforated - not a vapor barrier.

Best for: Hot climates, vented structures where orientation during install is a concern or where foil on both sides is preferred. Available in 48" wide and 60" wide - also available in bulk crates (85 rolls / 42,500 sq ft) for large commercial projects.
