Case Study: Covering Up Damaged Warehouse Insulation with BlueTex™

Background: Many facilities are looking for a way to conceal outdated warehouse insulation that has become damaged, discolored, or worn over time—leaving the space looking unattractive and unprofessional. This customer was contracted to cover the bottom wall sections along the warehouse length.

Goal: Cover old insulation without removing it, to create a new interior surface

Product Used: 2mm BlueTex™ Pro 50" Wide

Install Details: To prepare, the contractor moved wall racks away from the walls and created an open area to work in. Because he was not removing the old insulation, the prep work was minimal.

He followed the install instructions on this page for Repairing / Covering Old, Torn Wall Insulation in Metal Buildings Keeping Inside the Wall Girts. He used the existing screws along the floor to spear the BlueTex™ on to, and then secured them in place with washers. He could have covered these with white vapor barrier seam tape, but it's not required. 

Finish: The BlueTex™ was installed creating a fresh interior vapor barrier with a clean, bright, professional appearance. This method is great for spaces where the building needs to be presentable for customers or even for employees.

Results: The client noticed the immediate improvement in the look of the bottom section of walls and may consider doing the rest of the walls in the future.
